The Who frontman, Roger Daltrey says that the Keith Moon biopic will be made, despite all the setbacks.

The project has been in the works since at least 2005. Mike Myers was originally cast to play the late drummer, but he’s no longer part of the plan. Daltrey says he would have been great at the time, but he’s now “too old” to play the part.

Daltrey told NME, that he recently completed a script for the film and said he was determined to get it to the big screen. He said, “I’m very pleased with the script. As soon as soon as the director finishes the film that he’s on, he will read it and I’ll get a reply from him. Hopefully we’ll get it made ASAP.”

He described Moon as an “extraordinary character,” adding: “He was flawed, like we all are. But he was wonderful and he was an absolute uncontrolled genius.”

Moon died in 1978 from a drug overdose. He was 32-years-old.

Daltrey and bandmate Pete Townshend are listed as executive producers of the film.
