Sting has expanded his upcoming “My Songs” fall tour by tagging on nine new stops on to the itinerary. The legendary singer/songwriter and Police leader has new dates on the books — now hitting New York, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada.

The trek kicks off over two nights — September 1st and 2nd — at Vienna, Virginia’s Wolf Trap and comes to a close on October 15th in The Woodlands, Texas at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.

Sting told us that surprisingly, touring the world is in many ways far easier than being holed up in a recording studio for months on end: “Touring, I find, in some ways, relaxing because I don’t have to think very much. All the decisions are already made, and I just get up there and do my thing. It’s like being a tennis player or something. Whereas when I get into this period of trying to be creative, I have to reinvent the game from scratch. One of the, the attractions about touring is that it’s all kind of done. You just go through the motions, y’know — you just sing, you play the stroke, you move in a certain way — and you don’t use your brain very much.”
