New reporting puts Mick Jagger and Keith Richards recording together in Nassau, The Bahamas at Sanctuary Studios. The Rolling Stones have been slowly working on its first set of original material since 2005’s A Bigger Bang with their producer of the past three decades, Don Was.

According to Showbiz411.com: “Sources in the Bahamas say Mick and Keith (not sure about Ronnie Wood, Darryl Jones, and Steve Jordan) arrive at the studio every day at 6 p.m. and leave around midnight. And these guys are not slackers. I’ll bet they’re getting a lot done in those sessions.”

Ozzy Osbourne recently stated that the Stones are currently working on new material with producer Andrew Watt — who is also working with Paul McCartney and best known for producing Ozzy, Eddie Vedder as well as Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, One Republic, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, blink-182, Zac Brown Band, and Maroon 5, among others. Watt is also the guitarist for Eddie Vedder’s solo band, the Earthlings.

Although the Rolling Stones have always been dealing with the shadow of their early days — Mick Jagger explained that for the most part, they remain one of the lucky bands not lumped in with any particular era or decade: “I find it fascinating when I hear other people talking about it and other groups copying certain periods. I don’t find it, very, kind of, interesting to look back too much. You can’t ignore what you were, but I think to kind of take that stuff too seriously. . . I’m glad that the Stones aren’t labeled a ”60’s band’ — and I find increasingly that they’re not. They’re just not completely tracked in there. That’s taken quite a lot of effort.”
