Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie have rolled out a 19-city run for next August and September. The pairs “Freaks On Parade” tour kicks off on August 24th at Dallas’ Dos Equis Pavilion and runs through September 24th when they wrap things up at Phoenix’s Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre.

Blabbermouth reported both Ministry and Filter will serve as support acts for the tour, with general on sale tickets starting today (February 3rd) at 10 a.m. local time.

Out now is the new book, Alice Cooper @ 75, by famed rock journalist Gary Graff. The 208-page tome — published just ahead of Alice’s 75th birthday this Saturday (February 4th) — includes a whopping 350 color and black and white photos and sells for — you guessed it — $75.

Graff, a fellow Detroiter who’s known and covered Alice for decades, shed light on his 1980’s comeback and how it not only kick-started Alice’s own career — but reinvigorated the state of of heavy rock: “What Alice saw was a changed landscape from when he had been around before and you had the hair metal scene coming up in L.A. You had all these bands, he felt, ‘doing Alice.’ Well, guess what? Alice is back and this is who Alice feels he has to compete with and show ’em how it’s done. That’s the direction he went in and it worked. It made the statement because he was still gonna bring back the show and the show was what people were gonna see. They didn’t care if there was new music at all, much less what the new music was; they just wanted to know: ‘Oh, Alice Cooper’s comin’ to town — is he gonna cut his head off? Great, I’m there.’” SO)UNDCUE
