A major lineup of musicians will take the stage as part of the opening celebration for the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. Organizers have announced that Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Bono and The Edge of U2, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, Common, Eddie Vedder, Christina Aguilera, Marc Anthony, Tems and The Roots will participate in the event.
The celebration will mark the official dedication of the center, which is expected to serve as a community gathering place focused on leadership, civic engagement and public programs. The opening event will bring together music, culture and public service as part of the landmark occasion.
Located on Chicago’s South Side, the Obama Presidential Center is designed to be more than a traditional presidential library. The campus will host educational initiatives, community activities, and programs aimed at encouraging public participation and leadership development.
