Flint’s Classic Rock – 103.9 The Fox

I get downloading music cheap/free, convenient and easy. But nothing beats going to a music store and opening up your CD, album or cassette. I always loved the art work and holding something tangible just like I do with comics (love the paper). I was thinking about some of the cool stuff that also came with an album that you can’t get by downloading the music. I am not going to fact check any of this stuff it is just stuff I remember, so if I get anything wrong please don’t kill me.

Seven Separate Fools – Three Dog Night, it had 7 huge playing cards with the band members on them.

Cheech and Chong – Big Bambu, it came with a rolling paper the size of the whole album! I guess them boys wanted you to smoke a very large cigarette when enjoying that LP.

E.L.O. – Out of the Blue, had a cardboard space station cutout.

Todd Rundgren – A Wizard/A True Star, A post card was in it and if you sent it back with your info your name ended up on a poster that looked like the cover of that album.

Rolling stones – Exile on Main st, I wish I still had the post cards from that, but I mailed them all to my friends because “They were cool”. Stupid Me!

I can’t think of any more off the top of my head. But the point of this whole thing was go buy a album or CD from a store! You might get something cool out of the deal and you will get the music you want. Worse comes to worse It will at least bring back memories.
